Product Warranty

Home Appliances and Electronics Warranty

All new consumer goods purchased from AL. KYRIAKOU & SON ELECTRIC LTD are covered by the applicable legal guarantee of conformity under Cyprus and EU consumer protection law.

The legal guarantee applies for a minimum period of two years from the date the goods are delivered to the customer, in accordance with applicable law.

This legal guarantee is separate from any additional commercial warranty provided by the manufacturer or supplier. Some products may include extended manufacturer or supplier warranty coverage, such as a 5-year or 10-year warranty on specified components, where applicable. Please refer to the individual product page and the manufacturer’s official warranty terms for details.

Our Warranty Support

If you experience a problem with a home appliance purchased from Kyriakos Electric, please contact us directly with your receipt or invoice, the appliance model and a brief description of the issue.

Where required, we will arrange or coordinate an inspection by the relevant manufacturer, supplier or authorised service technician. The technical inspection will determine the cause of the fault and whether it is covered by the applicable warranty.

Important: Damage caused by misuse, overloading, negligence, improper operation, failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions, unauthorised intervention or other customer-caused or external damage may not be covered by warranty where this is confirmed by the relevant technical assessment.

For washing machines, washer-dryers and tumble dryers, the stated maximum load capacity must be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Permitted load may vary depending on the selected programme and type of laundry.

If a technical assessment confirms that the fault resulted from misuse, overloading or another customer-related cause rather than a product defect, warranty coverage for that particular fault may be declined and applicable inspection, transport, labour or repair charges may apply.

Nothing in this warranty policy limits or affects the customer’s statutory rights under applicable Cyprus and EU consumer protection law.

Air Conditioning Units and Installation Warranty

The warranty period for air conditioning units may vary depending on the brand, model, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms. Some air conditioning units may include a 2-year, 5-year, or 10-year warranty, which is clearly stated on the product page or in the product documentation.

Air conditioning units purchased from Kyriakos Electric are covered by the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, in accordance with the manufacturer's or supplier's official warranty terms and conditions.

Kyriakos Electric provides full after-sales support for air conditioning units purchased from our store. We assist customers with warranty claims, technical guidance, fault inspection arrangements, and, where required, communication with the authorised technician or supplier. We aim to support the customer after purchase and help resolve any issues correctly, in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty terms and the installation work carried out by our licensed installation team.

Warranty Coverage: The manufacturer’s warranty covers eligible manufacturer defects and technical faults of the unit, such as faults with the compressor, electronic board, or other internal components, where the issue is confirmed as a warranty-covered fault and was not caused by external factors, misuse, or lack of maintenance.

This warranty does not affect the customer’s statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law.

Installation Workmanship

Installation work carried out by our licensed installation team is covered for issues directly related to the installation workmanship itself.

If a problem is reported, an inspection by an authorised technician may be required in order to identify the cause of the fault and confirm whether the issue is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty or related to the installation work carried out by Kyriakos Electric.

Refrigerant / gas leakage is covered only where an authorised technician confirms that the cause is related to a warranty-covered product fault or to installation workmanship carried out by our licensed installation team.

Gas leakage caused by third-party installation, pipe damage, relocation of the unit, unauthorised interference, accidental damage, misuse, or lack of maintenance is not covered by warranty.

The warranty does not cover problems caused by insufficient maintenance, dirty or blocked filters, incorrect use, incorrect remote-control settings, blocked drainage, unsuitable installation conditions, external electrical faults, damage caused by the customer, accidental damage, power surges, or any work, repair, relocation, or modification carried out by unauthorised persons or third-party technicians.

Regular cleaning and professional technical maintenance are the customer’s responsibility and may be required to ensure the correct operation of the unit and to preserve the manufacturer’s warranty conditions.

Warranty Activation and Claims

The applicable warranty period and coverage may vary depending on the brand, model and individual component and are subject to the official terms of the manufacturer or supplier.

To submit a warranty claim, the customer must provide proof of purchase, the model and serial number of the air conditioner, a description of the fault and, where requested, photographs, videos or maintenance records.

The customer must contact Kyriakos Electric before arranging any third-party inspection, repair, modification, disconnection or relocation of the unit. Any unauthorised intervention may affect the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.

Where required by the manufacturer or supplier, extended warranty coverage may apply only to eligible defective spare parts after the initial warranty period. Labour, transportation, removal, reinstallation and other services may be charged separately, subject to the applicable warranty terms and the customer’s statutory rights.

Important Notice: If a service visit is requested and the issue is found not to be covered by warranty, including but not limited to customer error, lack of maintenance, incorrect settings, blocked filters, blocked drainage, external electrical faults, third-party installation issues, or damage caused by the customer, a standard inspection or service fee may apply.

In all cases, Kyriakos Electric will provide support and assist the customer in identifying the cause of the problem. However, warranty coverage depends on the result of the technical inspection and the applicable warranty terms of the manufacturer, supplier, or installation workmanship.

Existing Drainage Pipes and Concealed Building Services

Kyriakos Electric's warranty covers only faults related to the air conditioner itself or to the installation carried out by our licensed technicians.

Kyriakos Electric is not responsible for water leaks, blockages or faults caused by existing drainage pipes, concealed plumbing, electrical wiring or other building services that were already present at the property.

If, following a technical inspection, it is determined that the water leak is caused by an existing drainage pipe or another concealed building service, and not by the air conditioner or our installation, the issue is not covered by the product or installation warranty.

Additional Repair Work: Where technically possible, Kyriakos Electric can carry out the necessary repair work. Such repairs are considered a separate service and will be quoted separately. Any work will only be carried out after inspection and upon the customer’s written approval of the quoted costs.

When Does the Legal Guarantee Not Apply?

The legal guarantee protects the customer where goods have a lack of conformity for which the seller is responsible under applicable Cyprus and EU consumer protection law.

Important: The legal guarantee does not apply where the damage or fault was caused by the customer. Where the cause of a fault is not clear, a technical inspection may be required to determine whether the problem results from a product defect or from customer-caused or external damage.

Misuse, Overloading or Incorrect Operation

Where a technical assessment confirms that damage was caused by misuse, overloading, incorrect operation, use outside the manufacturer’s specified limits, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions, that particular fault may not be covered by the legal or applicable commercial warranty.

For washing machines, washer-dryers, tumble dryers and other appliances with a stated load capacity, the appliance must be used within the limits specified by the manufacturer. The permitted load may vary depending on the selected programme, type of laundry and manufacturer’s instructions.

Accidental or Physical Damage

Damage caused after delivery by impact, dropping, breakage, liquid ingress, improper handling or another external event attributable to the customer is not considered a lack of conformity where the damage did not result from a defect in the product itself.

Maintenance and Failure to Follow Instructions

Failure to carry out cleaning, maintenance or servicing required by the manufacturer may affect warranty coverage where it is established that such failure caused or contributed to the reported fault.

Unauthorised Repairs or Modifications

A repair, modification or intervention carried out by an unauthorised person does not automatically remove all statutory consumer rights. However, warranty coverage for a particular fault may be affected where the unauthorised intervention caused or contributed to that fault.

External Causes

Faults or damage caused by external circumstances rather than by a lack of conformity in the product may not be covered. This may include, where applicable, power surges or unsuitable electrical supply, external water or drainage problems, flooding, fire, lightning, unsuitable site conditions or other external building services.

Normal Wear and Tear

Normal deterioration resulting from ordinary use is not in itself a product defect. However, premature failure or abnormal deterioration may still require assessment to determine whether a lack of conformity exists.

Technical Assessment: Each claim is considered individually. Where necessary, the manufacturer, supplier or authorised service technician may inspect the product to establish the cause of the fault. Warranty coverage for a particular fault may be declined only where the circumstances and technical findings support that conclusion.

Nothing in this section limits or affects the customer’s statutory rights under applicable Cyprus and EU consumer protection law.
