When does the warranty not apply?
• Physical Damage Not Covered by Standard Warranty
Physical damage is one of the types of repairs that are not covered by a standard warranty. Physical damage is any damage that is caused by the user or by external forces outside of the manufacturer’s control. Examples of physical damage include dropping a product, water or fire damage, or any other type of damage caused by user error or external forces. In most cases, physical damage is not covered under the warranty and is the responsibility of the user to repair or replace the item.
In the case of a standard warranty, it is important to understand what types of repairs are not covered by the warranty. Improper use or neglect, unauthorized modifications or repairs, and damages from external causes are not covered by the standard warranty. Improper use or neglect can refer to misuse of the product or failure to properly maintain the product. Unauthorized modifications or repairs are any modifications or repairs done to the product without the authorization of the manufacturer. Damages from external causes refer to any damage that is caused by external forces such as weather, accidents, or other events that are out of the manufacturer’s control.
Normal wear and tear is expected with any product and usually not covered by a standard warranty. Normal wear and tear can include fading of materials, scratches, and other minor damage that occur over time due to regular use. In some cases, certain types of repairs may be covered under the warranty, but these will vary depending on the product and the manufacturer
Standard warranty not covered if the customer has not notified us about the defect within three months after the sale, or if the serial number or identification number has been removed.
• Improper Use or Neglect Causing Unwarranted Repairs
Improper use or neglect, causing unwarranted repairs, refers to an item that breaks due to misuse or lack of upkeep. This can include improper storage, handling, or use of the item, as well as any lack of regular maintenance or cleaning (washing machine, dishwasher, oven …) that may be recommended by the manufacturer. For example, a teakettle hear dryer may be damaged by being dropped, or a Hoover may be damaged by not being properly stored. In these cases, the manufacturer’s warranty will not cover the damage, as it was not caused by a defect in the product itself.
Additionally, repairs caused by unauthorized modifications or repairs, damages from external causes, and normal wear and tear exceptions are also typically not covered by the standard warranty.
• Unauthorized Modifications or Repairs
Unauthorized modifications or repairs are not covered under the standard warranty. This means that any changes to the product or repairs made by someone who is not an authorized service provider will not be covered. This includes any repairs or modifications made to the product that are outside of the manufacturer’s specifications. It also includes any attempts by the user to repair the product on their own and any changes to the product that are not specifically recommended by the manufacturer.
What types of repairs are not covered by the standard warranty? Repairs or modifications that are made to the product without the authorization of the manufacturer or an authorized service provider are not covered by the standard warranty. Any repairs or modifications made by someone who is not an authorized service provider are also not covered by the standard warranty.
• Damages from External Causes
Damages from external causes are not covered by the standard warranty. This includes damages caused by external forces such as fire, water, lightning, power surges, improper installation, or extreme temperatures. It also includes damages resulting from the use of the product for tasks that are beyond its intended use, such as the use of a vacuum cleaner to wet carpets ( if the vacuum cleaner is intended for dry cleaning only). The standard warranty does not cover repairs related to damage from external sources, as these are considered to be out of the manufacturer’s control.
In summary, the standard warranty does not cover repairs or damages from external sources, as these are considered to be out of the manufacturer’s control. Additionally, repairs of damages resulting from the use of the product for tasks that are beyond its intended use, as well as repairs of damages caused by the use of the product in an unintended manner or in an environment that is not suitable for its intended use, are also not covered by the standard warranty.
• Normal Wear and Tear Exceptions in Standard Warranty
Normal wear and tear exceptions in a standard warranty refer to the gradual deterioration of a product’s parts due to regular use. Wear and tear is expected to happen over time; however, a standard warranty may not cover items that have been damaged from normal wear and tear. Examples of normal wear and tear that may not be covered under a standard warranty include scratches, fading, loose parts, worn or soft materials, and items that have been exposed to extreme weather conditions.
When it comes to repairs that are not covered under a standard warranty, they generally fall into two categories: repairs that are considered normal wear and tear, and repairs that are considered an unauthorized modification or repair. Repairs that are considered normal wear and tear include things such as scratches, fading, and loose parts. Repairs that are considered unauthorized modifications or repairs include things such as tampering with the product, using non-approved parts, or making alterations to the product. Additionally, repairs that are not covered under the standard warranty may also include damages caused by improper use or neglect, such as leaving the product in a damp environment or failing to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
